The Breitling Chronomat Evolution is a relatively new edition to the Chronomat range.  It was widely believed to have been released in response to the criticism leveled at Breitling for producing watches which were dated in design – the Chronomat Evolution replica is anything but that.

In order to demonstrate just how modern the watch is supposed to be viewed as Breitling have even gone so far as to remove all numbers from the watch dial, this representing quite a brave move to make but it is certainly a decision which has paid dividends as instead of dividing opinion it has actually gained much positive promotion of the brand.

In order to further promote this message of modernity Breitling has also introduced the non-lateral bracelet design to the Chronomat range, a type of bracelet which is rarely seen in Breitling watches, let alone featured by any other luxury brand of watch.  However, this is where the modern styling ends and this is an aspect of the Evolution which has left me personally quite disappointed.  It would appear that Breitling’s desire to make this a modern masterpiece ended with alterations to the bracelet and watch face.  I feel that much more could have been done with regards to the colour of the dial and the design of the outer casing and caseback of the watch but this simply has not happened.  Of course my opinion is by no means final and many feel that Breitling have struck the correct balance between modernity and tradition, but for me this has not gone far enough.

But does watch represent the best Breitling replica in the Chronomat range?  My answer is yes, the rest of the traditional Chronomat range is just too dated for my personal taste so any watch in the range which is slightly more modern in design would represent a great improvement for me and the Chronomat Evolution replica represents this.
